TRUE Universal Remote?

Well, this seemed like the most appropriate section...

Think about this. A TRUE universal remote to me would do the following:

1. Control all our typical AV equipment (basically all good remotes do)
2. Allow non-LoS control (the real good RF-IR systems do this)
3. Allow control through IR receiver on a PC (depends more on the PC receiver but good remotes handle this)

Now the hard stuff...

4. Accelerometers built in for true PC mousing outside of discrete controls on 10ft interfaces(only the Gyration remote does this)
5. NO LAG IN OPERATION (well, this is a problem with my Harmony 890 Pro setup)

Thoughts?

Good luck with this. If it was easy/possible, they would already be doing this.

It is actually. There's just not a big market for it.

Gyration remote + Harmony or URC remote = solution.

Wii remote + Harmony or URC remote = solution.

Market = me? Does anyone else even want this? :D

I used to want this. Its one of the reasons I got away from HTPC's. Ease of use can be tweaked by a front end. Ease and quality of controlling the front end is another story.

That wand is pretty freagin cool! :D

I would put some dev time into it, I've done other cool things. It's getting them produced that's the problem. The hardware is simple.
