Troubleshooting Question?

I have one of those Logitech home theater systems that stopped working yesterday. The machine just won't power up. My question is, are the actual speakers still usuable? Can it be hooked up to the tv directly?

The problem could be something simple like a blown fuse. Look into that before you get "creative" :)

To answer your questions; the speakers could be the source of the issue, say if one of them has blown and is causing the amp (built into the sub box) to go into protect mode.

I am at a loss to understand why would you want to connect the speakers directly to the TV? Either ways, I am almost certain that you can not connect them directly to the TV.

As the previous poster said, the problem could be as simple as a blown fuse, although the fuse may or may not be easily replaceable. Another likely possibility is a bad power supply rectifier diode, which would likely blow a fuse. So if the fuse is blown and it blows a replacement, I'd check for one or more shorted rectifier diodes in the power supply.
