Can anyone out there tell me how to trouble shoot a reciever?
I have a older Sony reciever that has a coax connection out to the monitor or TV. I currently have the coax running from thr wall to the cable box out to the TV and a selerate coax out of the reciever to the TV second antenna input. I can't seem to get signal to the TV I also can't get all speakers to work, just the front one's.
How do I check the reciever out to determin if I am doing something wrong or the reciever is out?
Thanks

you take it one step at a time.

first, get some sound from the speakers. Does it have FM? Does that work?

Now, what kind of coax are you talking about? The screw on "F" connectors or the "yellow plug" RCA type connections?

hint... these are NOT interchangable.

The first is RF, which includes video & sound. The second is composite video only. ...big difference.

Thanks Markw,

I don't have RCA cables attached. I have the coax cable that delievers the signal into the house.
