Hi.
I just purchased a HK AVR245. The highs and mids are sweet as can be, but I'm having a terrible time with managing the bass to my Orb Super 8 subwoofer. For some reason, it keeps overdriving the sub. I've tried just about everything, including lowering the output at the Super 8 to levels so low that it's just about inaudible. My setup includes the Super 8 and the Orb speakers in a 5.1 configuration. All speakers set to small, with crossover at 120hz.
With my other receiver, a Pioneer VSX-816, I was able to attenuate the LFE output to the Super 8 10db via the initial on-screen setup. I was then able to make minor adjustments via the remote for the sub (and the other 5 channels) for any minor adjustments. This worked perfectly, but the Harman is giving me fits. Has anyone else had trouble with the HK's bass management overdriving their sub, and do you know if there is a way to attenuate the LFE signal other than manually from the remote after the initial setup?
Thanks a ton!
