I'm not sure what I blew up on Halloween but my Yamaha HTR 5830 system with JBL E30 speakers shut down after being stressed a bit too much. We could smell the metallic burn all the way out in the drive way and when I got inside, there was a message on the tuner screen saying some type of warning I don't remember but seemed serious about wiring. Since then, I've moved a few other speakers from around the house to test on the main channel and each one seems to sound like the tweeter is fried. Is this a good sign the tuner/amp is blown and needs to be replaced? Any suggestions for an AVR that will run multiple zones and a 5.1 home theater w/o breaking the bank?

Its cyber monday, a good day to replace and upgrade. Whats your max budget? Last years Denon line are going for some pretty good prices lately.

Thanks Drunkpenguin... I'll check out the Denons compared to my Yamaha that lasted for 15 years. Cyber Monday is my motivation to act. I'd like to keep it under $350 or less if possible and I'd like to have bluetooth, HDMI inputs and the ability to control at least 2 zones.

I think anymore most 7.1 chan receivers can do 5.1 and a 2nd zone. From the Denon line you might look at the x1400H, but since you are a yamaha fan Id give the forum a few mins for some people to get in here and respond. Yamaha is also highly regarded around here and Im sure you'll get some suggestions from their line.
