Tripplite - great service

I own a Tripplite isobar 8 that recently began to hum quietly. I emailed tripplite about the problem. They said it would have to be replaced. They requested two numbers from the unit and my address. I gave them both and they're shipping a brand new unit. Not only was it that easy, but they accepted my request for a change of unit (mine has a remote power button, i requested one with a normal on-unit button). They don't even want me to ship the old unit to them (just for me to cut off the power cord and discard).

I'm very impressed and will be shopping from them frequently in the future.

Did you read the warranty that came with the unit?
BTW: 20 years ago I was shipped a defective unit, the story you tell sounds very familiar.

I actually purchased it off of ebay so i didn't have the warranty to read. I know they offer a lifetime warranty, though.

That's comforting, I've got an Isobar6DBS and Isolator (Isolation transformer) and I'm very happy with both products. They're build is beyond reproach (regardless of price) and the service is icing on the cake. Makes you wonder why people spend more to get less (much less in the case of the Isolator).

Had discolouration on the corner of my direct view HD set and the Isobar and Isolator were the ONLY products that made any difference after trying APC and several multiple VERY expensive Monster Power products (which actually exaggerated the problem  ). With the Isolator, the problem was completely eliminated, and while I'm a none believer in the claimed miracles of power conditioning, my wife asked what I'd done to the TV because the picture looked so good. As for claims of airy highs and improved bass, that's bullsh#$ audiophile voodoo.

All their products are UL and cUL/CSA listed, grossly overlooked standards IMO (how many esoteric brands claim any certification?). They've got my business.

Well if the Isobar is reducing a lot of HF noise that can get into your circuitry than the "airy highs" may well happen. On the flip side of the coin who the heck really knows what "airy highs" mean to some people.
