But high-priced.....

I hope I'm not stepping on toes with this, but.....

I wrote about Tripp-Lites' new Home Theater series awhile ago on these boards as a possible alternative to the Monster products. The surge Protector that I bought for $130 is listed at $233 at Parts Express.

Getting two for that price certainly IS a savings if you need two of them, but if you really only need the one I'd shop around...

Could you tell me where you got it for $130, I'm assuming that you are talking about the HTPOWERBAR10?!

PC Connection (and others)....

Sorry about the long url!
It looks like the price has gone up a bit since I purchased it (it's a pretty new product, and I ordered it before dealers were getting them in-stock).

Heres a place that is $130:

Or, Buy.com at $116!
http://www.buy.com/prod/Tripp_Lite_HTPOWERBAR10_Home_Theater_Ultimate_Performance_Surge_and_Line_Noise_Protection_10_Outlets/q/loc/101/10377522.html

Google the model, " HTPOWERBAR10 " and you'll find lots of prices cheaper than the Parts Express price. Remember, too, though, that if you DO need two of them, the Parts-Express price is good deal.

I originally brought up the model here:
http://www.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4093

I like the unit as a whole, though there is one small point that irks me, at least while initially setting it up: If you use the wall-mount capabilites of the unit, as I did along a baseboard, you can't read the text that they put on there to identify each outlet: "Receiver", "Monitor", etc. I honestly don't remember if there were extra filters/protection stages for certain outlets, etc... but I figured that I would still plug in the appropriate component into the like-labeled outlet so I could at least identify the proper cable and plug down the road. It just would have made sense that if they were going to label the outlets anyway, they do so in a way that doesn't negate mounting it in the way it's designed!

Everybody better get in on this deal now before we decide to stop letting PartsExpress use our forums to post deals (for commercial gain) for free. :)
