I recently acquired a Yamaha Aventage RX-A1010 HT receiver. Unlike my prior Yamaha receiver, this unit does not provide a switched AC outlet.
Since my unit is in a cabinet, I use an AC-powered fan array to keep things cool while my system is in use. The 1010 does offer trigger switching, however, so I'm wondering about a low-cost way to rig up a trigger ON/OFF for the fan array.
The Xantech AC-1 (
Amazon.com: XANTECH AC1 Controlled AC Outlet: Electronics) looks like it might do the trick, but at ~$85 it's still somewhat pricey for what I perceive as a simple requirement. Ideally, I'd like to incorporate a timed delay, whereby the fan array shuts down five minutes or so after the receiver is powered off.
Ideas?
