Transducers in H/Theatre

Hi all, First time poster.
I realize this may get moved to a more appropriate room, But I think that here may be a good start.

I have some audio transducers which I would like to incorporate into my theatre.
They are 3 "power Bass Rockers" RESPONSE brand #CS2277 (discontinued)
50w - 4ohm - 20-150hz - vibration force peak 15kg -

I was thinking of using an old car subwoofer amp to drive them. 4x45w RMS
Coustic Power Logic AMP 268

or
I have a still-in-the-box new- Marantz MM500 .

My real question is this.
Do you have to supply a lo-pass signal to these units or can you just use a normal speaker terminal output.

Whichever amp you decide you use you'll want to feed them a low-pass signal. I've read a few places that giving them <50hz yields best integration. I personally just feed mine with a Y splitter from the subwoofer out from my receiver which is set to 80hz and do believe that they would benefit from a lower crossover point. Once you've fed the amp with a low pass signal you just plug them in to the speaker outs on the amp.

You may be able to get away with not feeding them a low pass signal, but this could yield subpar results, and if your receiver has bass management there's really no excuse...

The amp i'm leaning towards does have a low-pass filter stage outputs and variable frequency cut-offs.

How much of a difference do transducers make to the experience????

I haven't had mine for all that long, but so far I've found their the experience to be quite variable. I've been pretty unable to predict what movies/shows they'll work well with and which they will not. For the things that they add something to they're pretty amazing. Watched Super 8 last weekend and being able to feel a flying train car hit the ground was quite cool. For other films I've found them to add quite little and at times be a little annoying [which would probably be aided by a lower cuttoff frequency].
