The Alphas will be replacing a pair of el-cheapo Technics speakers that are my main speakers in my second system. This second system was my first forray into HT at least 10+ years ago. The Technics were used as surround speakers. I'll sell them in a yard sale. My second system now is a 2.1 with a pair of Alphas and a PSB Subsonic 5 being driven my a Technics AVR which predates HDMI :p

That should be the one where the grills are not removable - and a cardboard
paper port. They have a first order crossover, with a 1/2 inch thick square cut
block of fiberglass at the bottom of the cabinet for dampening. The tweeter is
a 1/2 inch polydome and a 6-1/2 woofer.

They are nice sounding speakers for their time - the bass does not go real low
and the woofer can become stressed and burp - all in all, a nice pair of speakers
that were better than the B&M speakers, found at Circuit City and Best Buy.

A big step up over the Technics - Enjoy

Some of the Christmas decorations got removed and I was able to swap out the Technics for the Alphas. Placement is far from optimal but the sound improvement is leaps and bonds better. I get a better integration between speakers and sub. Pics to follow in a day or two.

I have a feeling you won't be sated until you eventually own the Synchrony One, will you? :D

In the mean time, your goal is to convert all home speakers to the PSB family. :D

Yep, the upgrades never end until you conquer the Synchrony One. :D

That unfortunately is far outside my wife's budget. :p That won't happen in my life time.

Oh, sorry.

I think your speakers sound just as great anyway.

There are other things to spend money on besides home theater. :D

I would not have spent all that money on HT if I went back in time.
