Track search (Denon 557)

I use my Denon 557 as a CD player. According to the owner's manual, if a CD contains more than 10 tracks, I should be able to go two a particular track by entering the 2-digit number (with or without pressing ">10".) This does not work. It always goes to the first digit I press. Any track above 10 requires using the skip button.
Anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to fix it? Have I overlooked something that will make it work?

On my Onkyo DVD player you have to hit +10 first and then enter the two digits and that is the way it works on pretty much every player I've ever seen or used.

Yes, but that doesn't work either.

I just tried this with my 556. Usually, it went to the single digit track of the first digit pressed. Sometimes, pushing a digit then +10 quickly would send it to the double digit track, but not very often. I couldn't say how it's supposed to work.
