tower system on a budget

Here's a brand that I haven't seen posted on this board. Tru-Audio was founded by a man who had a successful custom business. He saw the problem we have getting decent in-wall and in-ceiling speakers at a marketable price, and decided to tackle the problem himself. I've been using their in wall/ceiling stuff for 3 or 4 years now and couldn't be happier with them. We use them for theater and distributed audio. In every model I have used so far the speaker has played like speakers costing 50% more.
They now have a Tower/bookshelf system called Blu. The full retail price on the set is $1200. If these are anything like their previous speakers then they would be an outstanding deal for the theater on a budget.

Thier in-wall subs only rated down to 37Hz? Freestanding subs down to 30Hz? Not much of a sub.

buckeyefan1,
I don't know but I could ask.

mrnomas,
I agree completely. Ive only used one of their subs because I had to have one in white. I only use subs from Reel Acoustics in that price range. They have however told me that they have completely revamped their sub line. I'll probably never know because I'll stay with the Reel brand.

I started digging around to see what I could come up with... not too much... There is no mention of their speakers anywhere else on the web. (not the norm these days)
I googled the phone number for their International sales guy and he deals with a couple of different types of speakers.. One that came up was Triad. Now I haven't heard of these but after looking in to these a bit it appears that they are a legitmate speaker. At least at first glance.

I personally have my reservations. The pictures on the Tru Audio and Triad look quite similar. They seem to be more focused on the look of the room then the actual speaker; gives the impression that these speakers are for the wealthy!! Gotta have them!! see how you can hardly notice them in the room!!!

I couldn't even find the speaker in some of the pictures!

Anyways... my .02

The thing about in-walls, and I know that I'm unjustly categorizing them, is that I can't get the memory of the in-wall PA system at every school I've ever attended out of my head. I'm sure these and other in-walls sound fine, but whenever I think of in-wall speakers, I get a mental image of the round, metal, perforated, squawk-box from hell that was always set at 105dbs. I'm cringing just thinking about it.

ducker,
you won't find Tru-Audio on the web. They are very careful to protect their dealers. As far as Triad I also deal those. I'm suprised you haven't heard of them. They have speakers that range from $300 ea. to $6000 ea. Their Gold monitors have the same speaker cone design as the really high end krells. Their Platnum LCR @ $6000 ea. will stand up to anything in that price range. They also have some good high end in-walls that are completely enclosed. The inwall speakers are supposed to be an exact match to their in-room counter parts.

Triad and Snell have been the cream of in-walls for years. Many other high-end companies have jumped into that market now.
