It has good response, is from a reputable company, and build quality seems fantastic.

It would not be a bad sub by any means, but if you want more input you need to give us more information. "Is this sub good" just dont cut it round' these parts!

yea, i'm learning what info is required....

bear with me, i'm new to this stuff.....

Here is the (very basic) current set up.....

Vienna Acoustics - Waltz (I have a lot invested in them so I dont necessarily want to part with them)

Onkyo TX 8522 (100 Watts)

20x25 room
Hard surfaces (its an office)
10' ceiling height

I was thinking the cheapest solution was to add a sub and a cd player and replace the Onkyo with something that will connect to the PS3.

Given a ~$3k upgrade budget and a preference to keep the Waltz's, what would you recommend?

Audio only, not video....other than hooking up my PS3 for very occasional use

The Storm is a nice sub, but it's expensive for what you get. When it comes to subs, you generally get more for your money by going with an ID brand like HSU, SVS, Epik, eD, or Rythmik.
