Total Noob question about upconverting/scaling

I just purchased a Panny th65PZ750U. Does this TV upconvert SD signals or do I need to do it at my AVR?

All fixed pixel display devices upconvert any incoming signal to their native resolution. A Plasma is a fixed pixel display device (meaning it has a specified number of pixels - like 1920 x 1080 if it is 1080p).

My TV is native 1080p. The reason I ask is because I am about to purchase a new AVR and I think I was putting too much emphasis on the video capabilities of the AVR. Sounds like it might be a moot point if it gets converted at the TV anyway.

It is a moot point but there is always the chance that the AVR will do a better job. It is unlikely but possible.
