Hi,Would like some input or thoughts on these.Bravus IIa 10D or SB12-NSD.I have EMP E5ti front-EMP-E5Ci center and want to get the E5Bi for the rears driven by a Pioneer elite VSX-81TXV.I have an interest in these two subs.Any opinions or suggestions to any other that are similar,or are these a couple of good choices. Placement is going to be an issue because i live in a studio app.I 'd say $700 is at my limit for a sub as well as the dimensions of them.Thanks for your help.On a side note its either these or something similar or smaller.

a) I'd skip on any downfiring subs for any apartment
b) SB12-NSD is a great little sub - it's very musical and it definitely worth it's salt, however you'd have very limited bass extension on it - not ideal for HT content

I'd highly recommend for you to jump on HSU sale for VTF-3 MK4 sub
VTF-3 MK4 Subwoofer

It's variable tuning allows it to be both musical or have excellent bass extension

I'm above a garage that is attached to a house and I'm cool with the landlord.We used to work at the same shop so NP with that,and I have no WAF or GAF to worry about.

Skip the separates, you'd have better value with full AVR

You wouldn't get better sound quality going with separates, but if you change place to better one and have bigger speakers you can always just add sub later

Ok, but still Aperion makes some good speakers, but I'd looks for subs somewhere else...

There are also excellent Outlaw subs which most are down-firing, but they are based on older HSU design, and since HSU have such a major sale - this one is no brainer

Rythmic FV12 is another subs I'd be looking at, but they are out of stock

The Hsu VTF3 is a terrific sub, but it is very large. It will have output much greater than the SVS or Aperion subs. The Hsu might be a PIA for your landlord if you like high volumes, but you can always turn it down. On that note, any powerful sub is going to be a nuisance to your landlord, or, to be more precise, any loud bass. The Hsu might be overkill, but so could the SVS or Aperion subs, depending on how the house handles the acoustics of bass. In this respect, the key difference between the Hsu and the SVS or Aperion is you can always turn the Hsu down if it is too much for you, but you can't really turn the SVS or Aperion up if they are too little for you.
