Toshiba A2 or A20 with 1280x720 front projector

I have Toshiba Front projector MT-800 with resolution 1280x720. It is capable of playing 1080i or 1080p. Will it make any difference to buy Toshibe HD-DVD A2 or A20.

I don't see how that projector can play 1080p when it is only a 720p machine. Or, it accepts that signal and downconverts it to 720.

With that projector, I'd go for the A2, less $$ and save for a later upgrade to a 1080p projector. By then, players should be way less and perhaps even combo players will be available.
