Toshiba A-3...new?

I'm selling a supposedly new A3 that I got off Rip-off-Bay. I paid for an XA2 but was sent the A3. Of course, the Bay would not do anything and it just isn't worth it to go the legal route. Not everyone is a nice guy like me. (Thanks, Guido, for the offer to collect)

Here's the deal. The box was opened but half way resealed. I have not reopened the box, but I can see the two new movies in there. The UPC has been completely cut out. I can reopen it to check and see if it's all there. I left it the way I got it in case the crook was to send me a full refund so it could be returned exactly as I got it.

I would like $60 plus $10 for shipping to anywhere in the great 48. I paid a whopping $300 + with shipping. The crook did send me a refund of $100, so I'm out around $200 as it stands. Insurance will be extra, whatever it costs me if you want it. I will ship it UPS ground, double boxed.

Dukester, that sucks. Sorry to hear that you got played so bad on that one. I'm not in the market, but $70 total seems like a good deal. Places were offloading those like crazy earlier this year, but it seems like most of those places are out of them now - so someone in the market for one should consider this.

Maybe you should open it and see if he put the XA2 in an A3 box
If he did then you may be right where you need to be

Nice thought, but believe me; with all the nasty emails we exchanged it's an A3

I was told by the crook that it's a shared account. One time it's "offourseido" and another it's "ohshityes". Most of the time they are selling dolls and stuff. When I called the number listed with Ebay on the account, a very old, frail sounding lady answered the phone. She had no clue. When I asked about the name I sent the check to, she said she thought she may have heard of him, but didn't know him. He might live in the building she does?

Oh, well. He wanted me to withdraw MY negative first, send him the player back, then he would decide whether or not to give me the refund and possibly withdraw his negative he left ME after inspecting it. I don't think so. It's my only blemish. I just have 75 or so feedback, but it's the pricipal.

Well, I opened the box up tonight and it does indeed appear to be new. The two movies are in there and unopened. I'll drop the price to $60 shipped to the con. US if anyone is interested.

You're about the last person on this forum that this should happen to, Duke. It's awful what some people will do to others for a few bucks. You have my sympathies. I hope you sell this one...you have a tremendously good price on a fine player.
