I was wondering if anyone on here has seen this TV in action, I am looking for a new TV and this is what the salesman at the store I shop at pointed out to me. He said it would be available soon and he would offer me a 30 day in home trial to see if I really like the TV.

My first choice when I went in was the new Sony SXRD TV's, would anyone be able to tell me the benefits and differences between these 2 TV's.

I have heard alot of good things about the 1080p Mitsu TV's that have just came out but sorry for us in Canada, they dont sell mitsu up here...

Toshiba has gotten the message; side speakers are out, at least with the 1080's. Now if they would only get the message that silver is out also.

They have a 'H' and a 'X' series. The 'X' has the VGA input and a RJ45 jack. Not exactly sure where that would come into play. It will be interesting to see the price difference.

Just have to wait. JVC has their 1080 comming, but it looks as November is the month.

Hey have not seen the 72 but the 52" cinema series set is shows more detail than a 1080p mits with a 1080i signal

I've seen the Toshiba 56HM195 in action and was far from impressed. Lots of rainbow effects - which I never see.
I got the Mitsu 62628 1080p and couldn't be happier.
The bottom line is that you are going to have to see the TV in person to make a decision, as many retailers may not have the display set up correctly or have crap souce going into it. Try bringing your own source - like a good DVD player - to help with your decision.
You could always have the set of your choice shipped to Canada, or move to the states. :)

Can't see how you see them on one and not the other. Same chip and color wheel speed.

Thanks for the help guys, but I decided to go with the new Sony 60'' SXRD instead of the Toshiba...

I guess everyone has their own opinion, personally I like Sony products better than Toshiba. But in the end it all comes down to the PQ and the SXRD has amazing PQ.

From what I have seen, SXRD (or just LCoS in general) has the nicest picture out there if you ask me. Then again, I have only seen them on the showfloor, and you know how brightness can mess with your sense of quality.

While doing Xmas shopping, I stumbled upon a 72mx brand new in box for 2900 in town. The picture quality is incredible albeit not as good as the Sony's flagship models, the IMHO, the pq difference doesn't justify what a Sony big screen would cost.

I've decided to pick this sucker up; calling it the 'family' christmas gift.
