Hey all...I need your help on this one...I am seriously lost.

I recently bought a Pioneer VSX-9300TX AV receiver and I decided to run all my video through it. Everything works great until I tried running my iPod dock through the S-video inputs (the AVR is connected to the TV via components).

I can get a signal to the TV this way. I have tried multiple inputs on the AVR...multiple devices (DVD player)...and I have also tried directly connecting the S-video directly to the TV...both inputs...

Nothing!!!!

I previously had the DVD player connected directly to the TV via S-video and it worked great. And now the TV will not recognize the S-video signal directly or through the AVR which is sending the info through Components.

Does anyone know what is going on??? I would greatly appreciate your help on this...

BTW...everything else works perfectly. DVD and Sat are connected to the AVR through components.

OK...maybe a bit more info. While I did pay heed to this warning, I was using a universal remote when I was adjusting the convergence of the set. So, anything could have happened. Does anybody know anything about this? This may be my problem...

Convergence Tips

Tips from Mr Bob:

TIP 1

"The 9 point convergence is the worst, and causes hourglass-shaped convergence errors that cannot be remedied via the 64 point. When ready to do a 64 point, you have to either straighten out any discrepancies caused by the 9 point, or find the 6 settings in the designer mode--the STC's, I believe--and recenter them. I believe default setting is 80 on each.

Whatever you do, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES order up VPOS and hit Volume Up twice. If you do, kiss your S-video inputs bye-bye.

If you need to raise your picture up a little, do so ONLY from being in Designer mode, NOT in Service mode."

Anyone? Is this too technial or am I just screwed?
Yep, it is specific to calibration of a special nature.
Have you tried AVS forums? Those guys experiment like crazy on factory setting. Not knowing what you are doing can be hazardous:D

Yeah...no feedback there either. I spoke with the writer of the article and that warning does not apply to my set. In fact he said that if that was the problem I would at least have some signal coming to the set through S-video.

Not just a black screen.

What can cause me to not only have a black screen when directly connected to the TV via s-video, but also a black screen when s-video is upconverted to components???
