What is the verdict on this model? I'm considering getting one based on the size/price factor and my impression that the Regza looks pretty good against other models in the store. I wasn't looking at the brightness, but rather the scaling and image artifacts and it's ability to create sharp lines between objects in the image. I especially want to consider getting the least motion blur. My current display is pretty bad sometimes when faced with reproducing ocean waves, fields of grass, etc.

What makes a real comparison difficult in store is that the displays are all on a single feed which is itself of questionable quality and consistency from display to display. I get the feeling that some poor displays look better than some good ones just because the poor one has a better connection or signal than a better one that looks worse.

I don't want to spend a ton of money. I'm only getting a new display because my wife wants a Wii and my living room is too small and cramped for that purpose. I want to put my current display in an open area in the basement with the Wii and put a bigger display in the main living room system.

Please contribute.

Edit - Here's what I am choosing from

I bought its big brother, the 52XF550, in June. So far it has been nearly flawless - no dead pixels and no red/green/blue push that I can see. It does have the typical LCD problem of 'flash lighting' (where you can see small white clouds in the upper corners) but it is only noticeable when the screen turns completely black. It disappears almost entirely when you use Movie mode. All in all I think it was a good purchase.

I think the main difference between the RV and XF is the XF has the super narrow bezel and 120 Hz. I don't notice any motion blur at all.

I got the 52RV530U. It just seemed hard to beat for the price. I should have it set up tomorrow for a proper evaluation.

This may take longer than I thought. It looks like I'm in for a complete reconfiguration of the system, new rack, new sub location. It looks that I'll have to lose the acoustic panels simply on account of the wall size vs. the new panel size.

I guess I'm back to experimenting again, but I'm okay with that. That's what makes it a hobby, right? Or am I crazy?
