Took the EMP plunge

Well after lurking around for a few weeks on the forum looking for reviews on bookshelves I took the plung and ordered a set of EMP E5Bi's. I received an Onkyo HT-RC160 for x-mas with upgrading speakers in mind, as well as the HDMI conectivity. I currently have a Denon setup with an Onkyo PC250 center. My plan is to change to the EMP center, if I like the e5Bi's, and move my Denon's to the rear for a total of 4 rears. I will eventually add the E5ti's for a true 7.1. I hope the EMPs work out as they seem to fit my needs at a price point I could manage.

Any real regrets from the board in regards to EMPs?

I haven't had them on carpet yet but soon will and I can only think the stability will be less on carpet as it is already lacking on hardwood flooring.

All it takes is one drunk stumbling @$$hole to rain on my parade.

Other than that they are excellent for the price in every way.

On a side note I will be adding a power amp as I find that the receiver I have doesn't have the oomph to drive the towers at high volume levels without distortion.

Never considered the stability issue with towers. Sub and center will be first anyway. How much power are you throwing at them now? Oh, I always keep my drunks in the backyard :)

LOL@ drunks. I live in WI so this time of year that would be rather mean.

I believe my receiver is spec'd at 95WPC which IMO is not enough to drive these speakers to reference levels.

I need more power!
