We have the Sony KDS50A2000. Anyone else have issues with yellows coming across EXTREMELY hot at times?

Not me. When I bought it, I left my 50A2000 at its factory-set settings for a few days, and even then the picture seemed pretty good. Tuned it with DVE, and it seemed even better. In both cases (pre-calibration and post-), I've never had yellow (or any other colour) coming across as hot, which leads me to wonder if yours is defective.

Have you calibrated the picture at all? It might help a bit, but having Sony take a look at it would be a better choice.

It sounds like your set may be suffering from the green (or yellow) blob issue. It si a known problem with SXRD sets. Does the yellow tint extend into the menus? If so, take it to a service center. Even if it is out of warranty Sony might still cover it. They have been extending warranties on these sets because of this issue.

The green blob issue is one of which I've heard, but I've not yet heard of a yellow blob issue! I suppose there's always a first, though . . .

Well the green blob is really a yellowish green blob. Some would call it green, some call it yellow, some call it yelow-green. :)
