I'm using an Apple Tv as a music server with a Cambridge Audio DAC Magic in my main two channel system. From time to time...i-tunes on my PC forgets that i have an Apple TV, and the only way i can get the two talking again is to restore the factory settings on the Apple Tv, and re-sync my entire library of about 3500 songs. With most of my library being ripped Apple Lossless this takes about two days. Frustrating as it is, i love it when it's working properly. I've become used to it, and take it in stride. Anyway...the times when this occurs, it streams while it's re-syncing to the hard drive, and for the two days listening to my system I swear it sounds better while streaming than when being played off the hard drive. Could this be my imagination? This goes against everything i've read on the benefits of a hard drive server over one that streams.
