To connect a Oppo DV-981HD DVD player to the Yamaha RX-2700

To connect a Oppo DV-981HD DVD player to the Yamaha RX-2700 should I use the Up scaling on the DVD player or the Receiver and do I have to configure the input / output on the receiver or is it plug and play type deal.

i had to return the receiver

First, I want to thank all the people who have helped me with setting up my new receiver and secondly apologize for not knowing the posting rules. The problems I was having was the HDMI output on the receiver was bad, so I returned the receiver to Bestbuy and received a new one and everything is working fine with dvd player .
