Which TV should I buy? The Mits WD 6268 or the Samsung HLR 6168. Also is it safe to buy one of these tv's over the Internet (Like Vann's, etc.)? Would you buy locally instead and why for each possibility. Thanks.

These are the same models I am looking at. The samsung has better features (1080p PC input being the most important to me), but I hear the Mitsu has a better picture. I won't buy either blind, so I am planning a trip to check them out.
As for buying online, Make sure to do the research on the retailer to see if they are reliable or authorized. If they are not authorized resellers, your factory warranty may be voided.

I personally believe the PQ is very comparable on both.

The Sammy's seems to be a slightly sharper on great
source material and the Mits seems to deal a bit better
with poor quality source material. Nothing major either
way though in my opinion.

Make sure you put both in movie or cinema mode with
default settings and hook up a good DVD player. Make
sure whatever HD feed is being used connects via
HDMI and is of high quality.

I have seen both of these sets look great and both look
horrible depending on the source material and how they
were set up.

i would agree with this.

They do both have PC inputs though. So you are good for that catagory.

Actually, only the Samsung has a dedicated PC input. The Mitsu can accept a PC input via HDMI, but even then it is limited to 720p/1080i. The Samsung has a dedicated PC input that accepts 1080p.
This means that the 1080p Mitsu can't accept a 1080p signal - AT ALL. Its HDMIs are 1080i limited.

Now I know everyone says that there are no 1080p sources (minus WMV-HD), but next year when the PS3 and blue-ray hit, at least the Samsung can take the signal through the PC input.

I only wish there was a way to compare the upconverted 1080p to the native 1080p.

BTW, if you upgrade to the Diamond series (827/927) Mitsus, the point is mute, because they include a 1080p PC input - only costs you $2K (for the extra input, not the TV :) .
