To 'bi-wire' or not to 'bi-wire'?

I followed this forum's advice and purchased some nice Ascend Acoustics speakers (thanks again for the help from you people!). I have the option to bi-wire them, should I? Would you? Why do?

Thanks for any personal advice or experience with doing this.

Denon AVR-S900w
Ascend Acoustics CMT-340 mains and center, CBM-170's for surround, LV12R sub
Used for: 95% of the time watching movies, 3% listening to music, 2% fighting to get more time in my room alone.

a SINGLE 12awg lamp cord is all you need to wire them speakers. You would not gain any better performance from anything else..
Now, if you like fancy Cords - BJC cables would make a nice one for you. Or something from Monoprice.
More than that = wasted money - You would better spending it to buy beer for me and you :)

Should you? Dunno. That's your choice.

Would I? No.

Why? It doesn't improve anything, except the cable companies bottom line.

But, facts have never stopped people n this hobby.

Now, bi-AMPing, when done properly can improve your system, but to do it right isn't cheap.

I'll have to re-read both of your comments, I think I saw something about a beer and left for a bit <hic>

Even the manual stated something like, "The theory is that by separating these frequencies, certain intermodulationbeer distortions can be minimized, thus improvingbeer the overall performancebeer of the speaker."

I need a beer, but that doesn't read very optimistic to me that it would make much of a difference.

Thanks for the help!

The key word there is "theory". That word alone brings a lot of $$ into this hobby.
