Tivoli Monoaural radio for cd listening

I am a graduate student who plans to listen to CDs at low volume in a dorm room.

I ordered a Tivoli Model One mono aural table radio.

My question is, if I connect my Sony walkman portable CD player to the radio using the line in jack, will that setup produce decent sound from CDs? Is playing stereo CDs with the monoaural radio a bad idea?

Thanks for your help,

Ben

You will be just fine. Stereo mixes vary in how they sound in mono. Your player has stereo headphone jacks and you could use those to connect to stereo powered speakers if you don't like mono. The unit accepts stereo inputs and outputs stereo at the headphone jack.

Tivoli gear is old fashioned and retro, but none the worse for that. It will likely keep going when the rest have stopped.
