Today, the first time i watched my tivo since getting a new tv (samsung 42" dlp) and my tivo looks like poop on a stick, i have Fios tv and satallite from dish, however my dish reciever is not high def out puts s vid to my tivo then s vid to reciever which then to tv. But when watching the tivo stuff (480i) looks totally bad, i am aware of the upscalling necessary but this is horrible. So first i took component up conv. off still looked like poop then took out of reciever still looked god aweful. (btw tivo recording at highest quality) anyways then i took tivo out of the mix ran straight and looks ok best i think a standard signal is going to get, but since i dont have a dvr with my fio's tv (high def) i use my tivo to record, the only reason i still have satallite. Anyone know of anything that might help maybe something i am doing wrong.

poop on a stick...your right!!!

You mean it's not "good enough"? You can see the action and hear the sound correct? Your just being picky!;)

My stand alone Tivo looks better on my SD 27" Sony compared to my 34' Sony HDTV. It's normal.

What you have experienced is standard. SD on an HDTV (especially LCD's I understand) looks just like poop on a stick. It's called HDTV buyers remorse. It happens when you realise 95% of everything is still SD and you just spent $$$$ and the picture looks worse than a $20 1985 13" Zenith CRT from the flea market.

Don't worry it will only be 5-10 more years (maybe never) till we're swimming in HD content, hopefully your DLP TV still works by then.

The current state of HD anything is sad. My advise its to hook it all up the most conveinent way and try to live with it. After a few years you'll get used to it.:(

Like I always say:

:( :( MAYBE NEXT YEAR:mad: :(

I've been waiting 3 already:(

I'm off to rock some 64bit MP3's,
