Titans for surrounds (where...rear back or rear side?)

I am setting up my first HT and I've decided for budget reasons to get a pair of Paradigm Titans for my surrounds. The question I have is where exactly my rears should be?

a) Rear on side mounted to face towards front
b) Rear facing front

My room is a shoebox 13x23x8.5
Seating will be approximately 8-10 fee from REAR.

My other speakers will be

Front: Paradigm MiniMonitors (or Monitior 5)not sure yet....depends on whether or not I can find a good deal on used Titans

Center: CC370 (or used CC350)

Sub:; SVSPB12

Receiver: Denon 2105

Any thoughts on the Surrounds? (or any of others for that matter)

dont underestimate the titan

i have a set of titans for rears in my basement coupled with monitor 5 fronts and they do a great job... you will have to adjust your setus in your EQ to match the speakers the best you can. I have my titans facing on an angle inward towards my centre directly over the shoulders of the couch. Depending on how narrow your HT setup is i would face them more inward the wider you go or keep them facing the center and move them back if you have the room.

also dont forget adp

the adps are great too for bipolar and yuo can just aim them towards the front and not have to worry about placing them as much

cheers

Actually the adp's are di-poles where the forward facing speakers are in phase the the rearward facing speaker are out of phase and for them to work correctly then they must be directly to either side of your listening position up on the walls.

Actually, I use my ADP-170's slightly behind the listening position and just above ear level and they sound pretty damn awesome. I've had them for about a year and half and currently use them with the Studio 100 v3 and the 570 v3. The ADP's, while not as robust and vocal as the Reference line, actually fare pretty well with HT and some multi-channel. I'll upgrade to the ADP-470's when funds permit, but for now the -170's do a champ job for the price tag.

When I said directly to the sides, they could be a foot or two forward or rearward. Aslong as your position is in the null ( where you can't tell the speaker is directly at your sides).
