Tired of Onkyo Breaking-> Considering Marantz vs. Denon

My Onkyo is cycling on/off a few times when I turn it on. Eventually it stays on. But I've sent it for repair a couple times already. Ready to move on.

Basic needs include:

  • 3 Powered Zones
  • 5.1 Surround
  • Able to control with Android phone
I'm aware I need 9.2 to achieve the 3 powered zones. My current Onkyo is a TX-NR818. Been happy with it except for the break downs.

What I've considered so far:

  • Denon AVR-4311CI
  • Denon AVR-4520CI
  • Marantz SR7008
I've been considering the bottom two over the 4311 mainly because of 4K support. Although, I don't have a 4K yet, not sure if/when I will. I have a fairly new 75" Samsung 1080P. Also, from what I understand, 4K is still new enough that any 4K capable units I get could quite possibly not meet the mark.

FWIW, I'm considering refurbs, + addon warranty.

Interested in your thoughts.

Marantz fan here, always liked their sound. I'd have to say go with a Denon this time however. Bought two for the family and both have been going strong and I'm very pleased with them. They were easy to setup and also sound great.

Thanks for the input.

I decided I'll go with the Marantz SR7008. Unless I misread the manuals, I can simultaneously play stereo on Z2 and Z3. They seem pretty equal specwise other than that.
