TIme to upgrade my aging Anthem AVM20 - HELP

So much has changed since I last upgraded my home theater. I am thoroughly confused. I use to be firmly in the separates camp, but I am warming to AVRs and have a nice performing Pioneer Elite in my living room. I also have an ATI 1505 that will still be power for this system.

So here is why I am upgrading. My Arcam has zero HDMI ins or outs. So I have been running directv directly to my Runco projector. We have added an Xbox one and the out of the Xbox One is problematic and I am forced to run directv through the XboxOne. Its time to add a blueray player to my Home Theater setup, I have blue ray through out the rest of the house. Yes I am late to the game for my HT room, but my Arcam DV88 is such a sweet player and life and kids happened.

So my dilemma. Do I just add an Oppo BDP 103 and have it switch the Xbox and Directv? The anthem sounds great, it has optical in. So I could add a BDP and just video switch. Or should I serious consider one of the following: Emotiva UMC-200, Outlaw 975, Marantz AV7701, 7005 or a Marantz SR7005. Im really open here on brands. I really want to stay away from 1500 plus pre/pro at this time.

Side note. I will be upgrading my projector most likely to an Epson 5030 or equivalent in the next month or so.

Current System: Anthem AVM20, Arcam DV88, ATI AT1505, Meadow Lark Audio fronts, Paradigm Reference CC, Paradigm Servo 15 sub, Def Tech Bipolar rears.

Your input and thoughts are much appreciated.

Hi Sqzdachrmn
You don't mention budget, but of the choices you list, I would highly recommend the Marantz AV 7005. Though it has been "replaced" with the AV7701, there is little significant difference between the two units. You can pick up the AV7005 for less than $800 used and for a little more at Accessories4Less an authorized Marantz dealer. It is packed with all of the modern features and connections you need, and sounds absolutely wonderful. Good luck!

I agree the AV7005 is a solid buy but the Denon AVR-4311 would be a best buy you can find a new one for under 1K. Otherwise the X-4000 beats the AV7005 plus it has amps that you may still find useful even with external amps. I do not find any of my Marantz sound better than my Denons. Such talks are probably originated from hearsays that somehow got repeated enough times for people to think it is true.

You and are in similar camps. I always had separates. In fact even now I have a Pioneer Elite but I still use my Sunfire amp for the powering my system. You have Runco and Anthem...so you're probably not someone who's main concern is price or squeezing the last few cents of value out of your purchase. I'm looking to replace the Elite receiver with an HT preamp ... Here's where I'm leaning: Integra (link below)
