Well, this is the week. Hopefully, by this Friday, everything will be done and I will be able to post pics of my finished HT. I decided to do some before and after pics. There isn't much physical construction being done, but it's not like I have anything better to do with my time...

Just a view of my HT area

The closet that shares a wall with my HT. I will put all of my electronics in here.

This is how my cable is being split from the source cable. I have been noticing more and more flickering and signal loss. Needless to say, with a third HDTV coming, I am getting an amplified splitter. btw, the one there doesn't work.

A closer view of my messy current setup.

A Picture of my blank wall where I hope to install a cabinet door to access my electronics which will be housed on the other side in the closet.

I am finishing up my basement (had a superbowl Goal date, but just finished laying my tile and my carpet guy won't be here til saturday :( )
I Added 4 more Cable outlets down stairs. 2 to give me some flexibility in where I place my TV and 1 for my Wireless system for the house, and 1 for my daughters play area TV

your choices are limited as far as getting a quality signal.
Don't bother with the Lowes and Home depot type amplified splitters.
especially if you are going to have HDTV with OnDemand type services.
you need a 2 way amplifier
Your best bet is to call your cable company or go to a near by cable company store.

they should be able to sell you a 2 way amplifier for around $50 +-

Likely it will be where you plug the amplifer transformer into a powered outlet
Intercept your Main line into the house with the splitter that comes with the Tranformer

-----main line------- > |splitter line in|

|Transformer|---> |splitter amp in|
|splitter amplified line out| ----To rest of house splitters etc...

The Transformer that you plug in should have an RG6 Cable directly out of it to go to a the Line in/Amp in/Amplified line out Splitter that comes with it.

This will be your best bet to get a quality signal. Make a service call to your cable guy (Time Warner here was free) tell them you have signal degradition issues, and let him see what you are trying to accomplish......

hope that helps. Most of the guys in our area are VERY helpful in getting you to your Goals when it comes to Hometheaters...
