My general policy is to hang on to TV's as long as possible, because the longer you wait, they get better & cheaper.
That being said, I'm thinking about replacing my 6 year old 51" Sony CRT RPTV. The reason I'm thinking about it is that, besides just always wanting new stuff, it looks like RPTV's are a dying breed. No matter when I replace my current TV, I'll want something at least the same size, & 56"+ would be better. Prices for 60" LCD & Plasma are still steep, and don't seem to be falling as quick as <45" sets. The set at the top of my current thinking is the Samsung 7 series 61" LED DLP. Maybe I'll go shopping the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Thinness is a non-issue for me - my speakers & electronics stick out 15" or so, so why do I need a 3" thick TV?
Any one have thoughts pro or con?
