Thoughts on this preamp/amp

Before i make the purchase?

Yamaha CX-A5100 or
Marantz AV7703
with the XPA Gen3

I can't decide between those 2 pre amps..

thoughts?

I would go with the AV7703 only because of the REQ. For music in pure direct mode I think the CX-A5100 should do better in theory but won't be noticeable in most cases.

I would go with the CX-A5100..
The 5100 has better build quality, built in the Yamaha owned factory in Malaysia, as the AV7703 is built in Vietnam under a subcontractor factory owned by Sherwood...

Just my $0.02...
