The Onkyo 805 is an excellent receiver. Onkyo has has always been a player in the receiver game. But with the introductions of their new TX-SR605, TX-SR705, TX-SR805, and TX-SR875 receivers they have emerged toward the top with their competitors. Bang for the Buck they are an excellent product.

I think he is saying that your receiver is enough, and it is. The RTi10s are fairly efficient (89dB 1watt/meter) and with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms they should be no trouble for the Onkyo. The Onkyo is stable with 4 ohms, which is about as low as the Polks should go. The Audiosource amplifier you linked doesn't have much performance advantage over the Onkyo if any in terms of power and I would bet that the Onkyo is more reliable and has a lower noise floor than the Audiosource amplifier.

One thing about the RTi and LSi series from Polk is they love their juice. The 805 should do a find job powering the RTi10's.

You could always run an amp to your mains if you feel your not getting all that those speakers are capable of giving. Before I did that, I would treat the room with a few acoustic panels.

I've always thought the quality of Audiosource products to be questionable.
IMO, that's a lot of money for that particular amp.
There are other offerings that give better bang for the buck if you feel the need for an external amp. Emotiva and Behringer come to mind.

That same statement has been made in so many threads and holds so much truth. I was about to order myself a two channel amp to run my mains but decided i'm going to atleast wait until first off my room is done and secondly I install some treatments. Then and only then will I even consider an amp for the mains, which at this point I seriously doubt I will even need.

Behringer is a much better alternative for the money. Emotiva's only amp in that price bracket is pretty small, the BPA-1.

A hundred bucks more than that Audiosource buys the LPA-1.
That fact that those Polks are Bi-ampable leaves several possibilities.
