My brother was a professional welder, welded everything from ship hulls to MRAP military trucks. He never went out on his own or tried mobile work.
I can mig ok, wouldn't trust myself with anything structural, but I do minor repairs on our dumpsters with a Miller Multimatic 200.

Seriously, I have no life.
Many contractors buy a truck get into the service of welder for hire. Pay rate for truck + welding supplies rod/'s fuel.

Some say gets a day rate for truck alone. The actual welder if you can call one that, learns trade becomes certified maybe. How many actually bust a test by QC inspector and or. A field of laborers mainly.

How many actual wear respirators underneath their hoods this supposed to my understanding, end up with lung disease. Not to imagine getting their eyes burned from flashing very painful. Get paid No Matter, What (Job) signed up for.

Expenses are great there's insurance on the truck, fuel, maintenance on the welding machine plus the truck itself. Any AH members in that line of contracting-out for hirer.

Take a Closer look at that fitted out Rig. Dude has (custom wheels) on his tricked-out rig, plus running boards. Anyone believe that maybe just maybe the back-cab has a tricked out custom sound setup instilled?

Class D amp/'s maybe. Our maybe some old school setup. Mind-blower 6 x 9 speakers from back in days past with a Craig 40 watt times 4 output, brand deck? I personal worked alone side one of the Best contract welder of my days going by.

Craig stereo? 40W x 4? With common ground speaker output? Literally not possible.

(Reread comment) >("Maybe just maybe") It was a hypothetical question but I guess you just couldn't help yourself. Now you are Wrong! Had a Craig cassette deck back in the day mounted under the dashboard.

Was 40 Watts x 4 class D. with an option for adding a amp. Maybe just maybe, days of past car/truck's may or not be able. But I'm sure you will post up grafts are even quote Dr. Toole. Go ahead, take something else out of context of my post. Chewbacca .:D;)
I mentioned common ground speaker outoput and that was good for a blistering 3-4W/channel, not more. Once they started using a stereo output chip for each channel, the output rose to about 14W but this was well before ClassD. In a ClassAB amp using a 12VDC power supply, the power output was very limited.

Craig has been gone for a long time- what year was this ClassD amplifier? You didn't say anything about adding an amp- of course it could be any higher power output but I was installing many brands of car stereos, starting in about 1977 and the first one in 1976 doesn't count because I was like Sgt Schultz- "I knew NOTHING!".

"Back in the day" for me is 1977, not 20 years ago.
