and my o3 Mustang cobra , The Bike its a 2006 CBR 1000rr I bought new last june that was left over from a dealer that closed love this bike and i've had many I beleive about 8 or 9 . Had it at the track in the 1/4 mile and ran a 10.5 with a trap speed of 139mph. This bike should run high 9's in the 1/4 but that was my first time at the track with it last year and havent ran it again yet. It was dynoed at 156wh thats pretty good with a dry weight of around 385 pounds a nice power to weight ratio. Since then i've geared it 3 teeth up in the back so it should be a little faster if I can keep the front end down and get traction.I also ran it on a road course and that was a blast . Well heres some pics of mine and if you have one postem up :D  Oh just for kicks I threw up a vid of my 03 Mustang cobra I had at the track best time was a 11.8 at 188mph on street tires <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i141.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid141.photobucket.com/albums/r69/TheFactor_photos/Ed_vs_S10_4-9-05.flv"> <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i141.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid141.photobucket.com/albums/r69/TheFactor_photos/Ed_vs_Fox_4-9-05.flv">

Very cool, man!!!

Is that you racing the bike on the track? That stuff impresses me. I've never ridden a motorcycle. I was pretty good on a pedal bike back in the day, though. :)

Very, Very Cool. My '01 Cobra was Zinc Yellow. Brings back memories for me. Mine only ran 13.66 which was about right for that car in stock form. What did you do to the Cobra to get it to run 11.8? I know it doesn't take much with those cars to make a ton of power but that's a great number for a street car.

Thanks Adam:D Yes thats me and it was my first time on a Track "road course" I've got a lot of years experience riding in the canyons but the track is different, it was a blast what a adrenaline rush . I had her going almost 170 mph in the straight and then wright at the end was turn 9 a hard right hand sweeper it was fricken crazy trying to see the break markers at that speed everything was blurry  I cant wait until next year to go back because that was the last track day of the year I think it was late september or early october . Hey if your good on a pedal bike then you've got all the basic fundamentals down ;)

13.66 is a great time for a 01 cobra because they were naturally aspirated . Ya my goal when I bought that car new was to make it a 11 second 1/4 mile "in the 11's that is " daily driver and I did it . It took me almost 2 and a half years but my last day at the track with it I ran a 12.01 then a 11.9 and then a 11.8 with only a 1.76 60ft . They kicked me off the track because it was almost 10pm and you had to be under a certain decibal level and I was to loud. Basicaly it was a stock supercharger that came on the 03's but I had it ported and polished, a smaller upper blower pully and a bigger crank pulley. Stock headers with a Bassini catback exhaust with a bassani xpipe . Had girdle on the rear axle, subframe connectors, JLT 12 INCH in fender cold air intake, 60lb fuel injectors and some globa subframe connectors and of course with custom tunes. I think that was it lol but when it was all said and done I dynoed it at 502rwh and 512rwt :D she was a monster at 50 mph 3rd gear you vould mash it and smoke the tires with street cheaters MT DOT drag radials. Those cars were heavy though at around 3800 pounds but it should of ran low 11's but I didnt have the heart to power shift her keeping it floored between shifts I always let off a little . But I hit my goals of making it into the 11's and called it good . Plus at the time if you went 11.5 or faster you needed a full roll cage, I dont know what NHRA ruels are now.

Thanks those 600's are fast and nimble bikes there great in the twisties too:)
That's pretty funny.:)

I like the pics a lot.:)
Thanks and ya Adam had me rolling lol
Right on. Getting that 60ft time down isn't easy. That's a great time for a 3800lb street car...shows some skill (and a lot of preparation).:)
Thanks Much I appreciate it, I really did have to work hard on it with many weekends at the track and hours of blood sweat and tears laying on my back 2am in the morning under my car wrenching on it in the garage, Your so wright the launches are so important and the cobras didnt have a solid axle it was a irs so you had to be carefull not to snap your half shafts on the launch. I found it best to almost bog it at the tree because it had so much torque it still pulled hard and took the jolt away from the drive train and slip the clutch a little .

Typos are OK. I went back and looked and my Cobra only ran 13.78. It was my Camaro that ran 13.66 on it's first time out (IIRC) but I got that down to 13.21 with a little more practice.

When I was around eight years old, I could pedal my bike to about 90 mph.

Oh, wait. I meant 20 mph. :D

Nice runs !!! you did a good job its not easy but a lot of fun . I always would play my favorite music and get all pumped up on adrenaline before i'd take off at the tree :D

:p Are you mocking me Adam :D Seriously your pedals must of been smoking;) I always use to put a card on the rear of my bike so it would hit the spokes for sound effects :)

I probably could have retired by now on the collector value of cards I stuck in my spokes back in the early 70's.
