Folks, as 2009 comes to an end I can not help but to think of those who passed away during this year. As such, thought I would mention of few off of the top of my head. So, here they are in no particular order:

Gimpy Ric
Brittany Murphy
Michael Jackson
Patrick Swayze
Ed McMahon

Feel free to add others. May they all RIP!

Cheers,

Phil

Seriously, I have no life.
These are all entertainers. I'm sure we lost some who were more important. Of the list I saw, Les Paul mattered most.

I bet the economy would be just fine if Captain Chaos was still with us.

Folks, feel free to add more. Last nite I did a search, but got a virus instead. As such, be careful if you do a search. However, I was able to contain it and deal with it effectively. Just wanted to warn you guys just in case you did the same. ;):);)

Cheers,

And I also mourn for those brave Iranian citizens who took to the streets during the last election and subsequently were killed or never heard from again. In particular, I remember the video of the girl who lay dying in the street from a gunshot as her blood left her body.
This is the reason I have a problem with the media coming up with these lists- they're filled with celebrities who generally couldn't control their addictions and lives. They think those people matter more than the ones who actually do something for others, like the woman who didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize for smuggling more than 2500 infants out of Poland during WWII.

I saw a headline this AM about Iranian police killing another four protesters. Iraq, Lebanon and Pakistan all had bombings with fatalities and nobody makes a list of these. The flight from Amsterdam to Detroit had an attempt, which would have been successful if the bomb had been potent enough- it went off while he was in the restroom and when he came out, he complained that his stomach hurt, followed by his clothes igniting.

Celebrities don't really matter, except to their families and friends (not always). All they do is provide a diversion from the daily grind of peoples' lives.

Folks, I would also like to take a moment to remember all of the brave young men and women that gave their lives to ensure the very freedoms we enjoy. For that, I am forever grateful and personally salute each and every one of them. Their deaths will NOT go unnoticed and will NEVER be forgotten. May those that died in the line of duty RIP!

Cheers,

Phil

Honor for the soldiers lost.

Remember Them
By Jeff Hooker

Lying here beneath this ground
Never again to make a sound
When alive, they were so brave
And carried honor into the grave

They were all the best of men
Courage earned by all of them
Medals pinned upon their chest
At last the peace, of final rest

In the ranks they stood so strong
Voices raised in battle songs
Marching forward defying fear
For the land they loved so dear

On that final Judgment Day
When they all stand up to say
We gave up all we owned you see
At duties call to set men free

So when the flag waves in the wind
If but a moment, Remember Them
For they all paid the final cost
So freedoms truth, would not be lost
