This Make Sense? Moving to Atmos capable setup

I think I have a fairly good read on this, but I want some opinions, particuarly in terms of the equipment I plan to pick up/replace.

So, I currently have an Emotiva UMC-1 paired with a Emotiva IPS-7 powering an NHT classic 7.1 system (the .1 is actually a SVS sub). I am intrigued by the various new height channel formats and I'd like to be able to run them all. I've read up on the unified speaker setup for Atmos/DTS X/Auro 3D that is offered on the Denon/Marantz models, and that's the direction I'm leaning.

So, here is what I have in mind, I will replace the UMC-1 with a Marantz SR 7012. This will provide the additional amp channels for the height speakers and I'll just run the rest through the IPS-7. I'll add the height speakers from SVS (Prime Elevations), ultimately giving me a 7.1.4 system. I'm single, so I'm not too worried about having to hide wires, etc. :p

Am I missing anything here? I really have enjoyed the sound of the Emotiva unit, but it has always been buggy and it is time for a replacement. Anybody have any thoughts on the sound of the Marantz in comparison? I tend to value music over movies (yes, I know, that's an odd priority for someone going nuts over surround formats). I know I will be mixing speakers here, but since these will be height speakers, that shouldn't be a big deal?

Happy to hear other thoughts on this.

Yup seems about right. I always liked Marantz, but Denon are very good units too.

IIRC the 7012 comes with Auro 3D built in. So you need to be careful with speaker placement if you want to run Auro and Atmos.
