If I decide to get a bike for riding up north, that is exactly the type of bike I want :)

I'm getting my registration up to date tomorrow so I can do some riding before I leave. It was 68 and sunny today and it was killing me not to be out on the road.

I started with a '83 Kawasaki GPzed 305. Then, the very next year traded up to a '84 GPz550. Finally, my last bike was a '93 Suzuki 750 Katana. It was a bit of a barge, handling-wise, when compared to "proper" sport bikes, but a bit more comfy for my wife on the back. It was quite fast though.:D

I came within a hair of buying a TL1000S, which was a real beast, but in the end I realized that I just don't have the time to do much riding. So, instead of buying that bike, I sold my Katana and now I'm bike-less.:( Sigh.....

I almost bought a SV-1000 instead of my GSXR-600. I sometimes have regrets not doing so, especially after longer rides.

The new crop of 600's are amazingly fast, but your correct. For long hauls it is nice to have the cc's. My SV is an 07 650 that I inherited from dad due to his health not allowing him to ride. It only has 1200 miles on it 600 of which I put on it over the summer. My FZ is an 02 that I bought new in 08. It was a leftover I found at a small dealer about 30 miles from my house. If we go anywhere far, the wife likes riding on the FZ for sure. Much more comfortable for 2 up.

The extra torque is nice but I was referring mostly to the seating position. I can only do about 45-50mins on the GSXR before my wrists start to ache.

Right, that can be an issue for sure. Wife likes the FZ because it just rides better than the SV. The SV is very stiff even with settings set low.

I am getting this stuff soon.

Holeshot slipon

Stage two jet kit with KN filters that remove the air box

High pipe slipon for SV

Scott oiler for both bikes

I already have dropped a tooth on the front and put in a speedo healer on the FZ1
