Sorry, I'm not excited for 3D TV at my home until I see a hologram a la Minority Report. I have no desire to sit on my couch, treadmill, etc. and wear dumb glasses.
High-def did not take off because of better PQ or a better theater experience. Most people don't even have stereo much less surround in their living rooms. They listen to their TV speakers. High-def took off because of the digital transition and the flat panel craze. After spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on new TV's, most people are not going to run out and do it again a mere few years later just to wear stupid 3D glasses.
Personally, I'm more excited about the new classes of e-readers at CES than I am about these 3D displays and Blu-Ray players. Yes, after plunking down hundreds of dollars for Blu-Ray players that are finally profile 2.0, etc., people want to do it again for 3-D? *Cough*
