Thinking of replacing USB attached hard drive attached to the WD

I currently have a 1TB seagate drive attached to the WD and its used capacity is 50%. I'm thinking about getting a WD 3TB drive and transferring the data to it. I will use the old seagate as spare backup drive for my PC. Thoughts? Are the WD reliable?

I would not trust any vendor 3-4tb single drive to hold all of my media collection.
Get a NAS
