Hey guys wondering what happened with my 12" Kappa Perfect VQ... I had it cranked pretty loud but I didn't think it sounded like my O audio bash was clipping. Anyway when i turn it up a little bit now it makes a slapping noise. When i turn the crossover down to 40hz it doesn't slap as much as when its at 80hz or above. Is it blown? And what sub should I get to replace it in the simple kappa enclosure if its blown?

Pull it from the enclosure & inspect it for damage.

Sounds like a problem.

It turns out that the surround is coming loose. Where do i send it to get repaired?

It is not as simple as regluing the surround. The dust cap has to be removed and the voice coil recentered with shims. Then you can reglue the surround with speaker glue. After it is cured remove the shims and reglue a new dust cap.

If you can not do it see if Orange County speakers can.

Unfortunately Infinity does not offer repair of their drivers that I am aware. They had an infield destroy & replace policy for warranty items. You could contact them directly to see what they recommend?
