Can anyone give some insight as to which good quality Leather recliners are in the market?
I'm looking to replace my Berkline's, (bought JUST before they went under in 2011).
My head is spinning from reading all the review, watching all the videos, but NOT being able to actually SIT in a sample seat!
I'm looking for top grain leather, power recline, good LONG lasting comfort. Recommendations please? What do you have? How do you like them?
Thanks

I am not a lot of help, but, I do have a Pulaski single seat recliner/media chair in my music room. Its super comfortable and its a year old now and still looks show room new.

Seatcraft is probably one of the biggest sellers in the specific niche of home theater/home entertainment seating. I don't have that kind of budget. But, if I did, I'd take a good look at them and find a place to try them out.
Good luck.

thanks Bucknekked,
I'm surprised there aren't more threads on this site. Hard to get reliable info on any of the brands, but I am aware of Palliser and Seatcraft as more reputable.
The only thing I've learned for sure is STAY AWAY from BONDED Leather!.
I guess at least have top grain on seating surface at minimum.
Anyone have more real life experience or an idea of where to go SEE and SIT before purchase? I'm in Savannah, nothing close by or even within several hours drive.

believe it or not, there is a strain of audiophile that believes that any sort of high backed, reclining, comfortable theater seating should be verbotten in a high quality audio environment. I had never heard of such a point of view until this morning when a friend sent me a lengthy discussion in another (completely worthless) audio forum on things destroy your sound. The sheer volume of audiophools who spouted nonsense on the evils of comfortable chairs was spectacular. I do not subscribe to that school of thought. I love my top grain leather recliner (yes, no bonded or cheap leathers).

We used to have several places here in the Phoenix area that were home theater places and they stocked lots of theater style seating. Most of those places are defunct now. What I have noticed is many of the very large furniture stores have now picked up home entertainment seating. Many have a section with big TV's and probably a dozen or more choices of styles. Give a big furniture store a shot. That's all I got . Good luck.

I bought a set of Berklines from rtheaters.com several years ago and couldn't have been more pleased with my purchase. The cost ordering from there was at least a couple grand cheaper than it would've been ordering from my local furniture stores. I strongly encourage you to give Roman a call and discuss your concerns with him. I know it's unreasonable to expect to sample any of his furniture before committing, but he's highly knowledgeable in the field and thoroughly professional. I remember him being extremely patient with my inane questions and remarkably low pressure for a salesman. I think he either is or has been a regular on AVS Forums. That's where I learned about him many years ago anyway.

I have also been advised that HTMARKET is a reputable dealer, and I have browsed their website and YOUTUBE videos. The nearest BBUY Magnolia is about 2 hrs away, I will try to take a ride there.I will also take a look at the recommendation above.

Why would ANYONE be opposed to being comfortable while listening engaging in listening to their beloved music or enjoying an exceptional viewing experience. The more that enjoy movies or music, and support the companies that make these great products, the better. Do what you enjoy and don't listen to the naysayers.
