I know this site is more focused on equipment and gear but I need a bit of help with choosing the right seat. My room is only 17' deep and 14' wide. I want to have two rows of seats but do not want the front row to be too close to the 100" screen. I also want to have the back row fully recline (of course) Most seats I've seen need 4"-6" inches from a back wall and recline to about 65" long. Are there any seats made for smaller spaces?
Thanks

There are some brands that can recline right at the back wall but no idea how far out it goes. They are just regular residential recliners and one of the better known companies, just forgot which right now.
Yep, you probably don't want to be closer than 12ft to 14ft on that first seat. Doesn't give you much for the back.

Try Staggering the seats. Some people likr that kind of set up. My room is only 10 X 20, with a 63 inch Plasma. I have 2 rows of 2 seats, and it worked out perfectly. I did want 2 rows of 3 though. Restrictions, Restrictions. what can you do?

I had a somewhat similar problem. My room is 22 X 12.5. My daughter who is an architect and interior designer picked out these chairs.

They recline to 63 inches which is about the best you will do. Your problem is that you screen is twice the size it should be for the room.

Here is how the seating works out.

At 17 X 14 you are close to the worst case 1/1 ratio in length to width. Optimal is 2/1. You may need some bass traps to deal with standing wave problems.

Unfortunately, recliners of any type take up valuable space, more so in tight spaces such as yours. TLS also makes a good point about the screen size; I think it’s a little big especially for front row viewers. I believe something in the 88”-96” range may be more appropriate.
