yeah.. their biggest venders are white vans across the country that have guys in them pretending that they stole or came on some overstock speakers.

they will claim they are worth 2 grand or something, but will get rid of them for 200.

its happened all over, you can find them on ebay as well. The thing is that their website actually sells then for 2 grand so that technically they arent really scamming people. But the specs are wrong, and the speakers are pretty much crap. I dont think you can even buy them off of their site.

if you google it youll find threads all over the place. people get swindled and then feel stupid. Some people are happy with them though..

Actually the majority of people that are happy with them are just pimping the speaker to more unsuspecting customers.

I have to say, found their website http://www.trtheaterresearch.com/

for maybe like $200 bucks they dont actually look too bad, I think its funny basically everything on the website is like 2000 msrp and up, lol even the car stereo stuff, but for like 200 bucks ya can't really expect too much out of a speaker, not condoning how they sell them by saying its a 2k dollar speaker and i need to get rid of it quick, got 200 bucks on ya? Thats complete BS and someone did their homework on the legal implications if they get away with it, but at the 200 dollar price I wouldn't doubt they'd rival something like sony or klh towers or something. I know you can get better for your money, like BIC, but I'd probably try some of them out, wost case they get turned into garage speakers.
