Theater Research Speakers on Ebay a scam?

Hello-

I have seen a lot of auctions on eBay for some supposedly high dollar theater research speakers (retail of like $3889 or something like that) that are selling for prices under $500 shipped. Does anyone know anything about the eBay seller's or the legitimacy of the theater research speakers and subs that they are selling? I just wanted to know because the deal seems a little too good to be true.

They're of the white van fame. Decent bass, but a gutted midrange and cheaptastic parts. They make good budget speaker companies like Fluance and Streem look bad. Other white-vans are SDAT and Digital Research.

Like anything that seems too good to be true, it probably is. This is another one of those instances where it is indeed a scam. Stay away from Theater Research.

Thanks guys. I am glad I didn't get too excited about the cool look of the speakers before I posted on the forum. I will stick with looking for either Fluance or BIC speakers (I know they are good quality). Thanks again for the heads-up.
