After "It Might Get Loud", I had a renewed interest in Jack and The White Stripes, so when I saw that this had recently come out I quickly threw it into my Netflix queue. I watched it over the weekend and I may end up buying this one. The video isn't necessarily reference material, as it is sometimes grainy and others very clear. Likely this was intentional. Some shots are in black and white and others color. It goes back and forth between the band doing various things, mainly their impromptu "free" short notice public shows that they were doing on the last tour and actual concert footage including the "One Note" show in which they played only one note :D

The sound is pretty darn impressive on this one IMO, particularly the concert portions. Surround is used extremely well to capture the live sound and overall just sounds well mixed. LFE is quite good. There is a portion where Meg is singing and Jack's guitar crushes her vocals, but that is probably how it really sounded at the show, so can't really complain - it is an example to me though that they didn't try to alter that sound. The whole thing is only 1 1/2hrs long, but I found it extremely entertaining on both the non concert portions as well as the performances. I still can't get over the fact that it is just the two of them for the kind of music they produce. There are no extras at all on the disc however. Highly recommended. Not a blind buy if you aren't a fan, but definitely worth a rental even for casual fans.
