The Weirdness Continues

I recently auditioned the Soundfield M1 speakers from AJinFLA.

After 2 weeks, I shipped the M1s to Tesserect.

It was tracked as Delivered. Tesserect confirmed on AVS that he in fact has them and everything was cool.

Anyway, so yesterday I got an email from UPS saying that I was being charged $33 because "I REPORTED DAMAGE TO THE M1 SPEAKERS"!

They said that I personally called them and reported damage and that they attempted 3 times to come to your Tesserect's house to inspect the 2 boxes!

How bizarre is that?

So I told them I never did SUCH THING!

So they reversed the charge, but their only explanation was that I MUST HAVE CALLED AND FILED THE CLAIM MYSELF!

They said only the shipper could have made the claim.

Is this the Twilight Zone or what?

I asked them who made the call and claim.

They said I did (by my name) !

I told them that's I possible because I did no such thing.

I shipped to Tesserect. He's a member on AH as well as on AVS and Chase Home Theater.

I also have a MasterCard that I placed in my safety box at home. It's been there for over a year. Today, I got an email saying I used the card on some merchant for $20. So of course, I called my CC and reported fraud.

2 hours ago, I just got an email saying one of my colleagues just "suddenly passed away" on Sunday yesterday. She was only in her 40s.

Life.

Someone hacked your stuff, got your mail or somehow otherwise got access to your info. I'd check all accounts and cards.

Weird. I had one of my cards cloned and used somewhere on the east coast a couple years ago. And sometime last year another card was cloned and used in brazil :x

I am truly sorry for your loss, life has a funny way of reminding us of how short it really is...

Your recent posts have compelled me to rebuild my brothers old stereo in memory of him. Thank you for your willingness to be real, it does make a difference.

Great free password storage and generation tool

I use LastPass. It stores all your passwords in one convenient place and all you need do is remember your master password. Also, if you wish, it can generate some fairly hard-to-crack passwords for each account.

Given the high level of smarts in this community, I'm sure many here use this or other password managers.

Here's CNET's review:
