Absolutely a beginner - buying the Panasonic PT-AE900U Projector. Will use existing Yahama sound system - surround. Questions :-- Room 15x15ft. Screen wall 9ft x 8ft6in high and 15ft from projector in ceiling. Existing A/V Sources (Sat rcvr/ VHS viDeo/Cable tv/DVD)about 25/ from distance from projector rear. (May connect my pc in the future - about 12ft from rear of projector) Was going to use an 8x4 blockboard home painted screen - is this proportion ok? What paint and colour? Matt or gloss? My sound system will have to suffice and can be re-located to suit. Will the scart leads I assume I'll be using be ok over the above distance ie 25/30ft or so? Perhaps it's not too critical. Anyway looking forward to a quick response -- I'd like to have it in for Christmas -- this one coming!! (Wife does'nt know - yet!) Many thanks, Michael r.

Mike, welcome to Audioholics. I've found this to be one of the best sites out there for home theatre.

I too made the switch to a projector about a year ago. Best decision ever! There's something to be said about measuring your screen by feet versus inches. Anyhoo, here's a pretty good link about painting your home theatre screen

Again welcome to Audioholics.
